Saïda Jawad is a French actress, screenwriter, and playwright, born in Roubaix to a family of Moroccan origin.
As a child, she played the accordion for over ten years, encouraged by her father. From an early age she developed a passion for theatre and joined the Roubaix drama conservatory. She began on stage with Jean Anouilh’s Antigone, a major success that took her on tour across France. She moved to Paris to pursue her acting career and landed her first film roles in C’est la vie, Les Casablancais, and 17, rue Bleue, before appearing widely on television.
In 2006, she wrote and performed the autobiographical play Monsieur Accordéon, acclaimed by critics. After performances in Paris, she appeared at the Avignon Festival, then toured France and Morocco. She made her mark on French cinema portraying Rachida Dati in La Conquête (dir. Xavier Durringer). On television, she wrote and played the lead roles in TV films such as Tout est bon dans le cochon and Super Lola. Her eclectic career and creative commitment have made her a notable figure in contemporary French theatre and cinema.
